Math Meeting Point
Additional Offer

Extra tutoring mathematics for civil engineering

The tutoring offers additional support for first-year students in civil and enviromental engineering. It provides the opportunity to learn together and to help each other. Asking questions helps not only you, but also your fellow students and gives us the opportunity to clarify any misunderstandings or catch up on any omissions.

Origin

The course ‘Treffpunkt Mathematik’ is joint course of ‘Treffpunkt Mathematik’, by Department 4 – Mathematics originally hold for mechanical engineers and the ‘Ingenieurtutorium Mathematik’ developed by the Departement 13 – civil and Environmental Engineering. It is an extra course additional to the ‘Mathematics for Civil Engineers I and II’ and a cooperation between Departments 4 and 13.

Course Contents

The event is intended to provide additional support for first-year students in order to cope with the heterogeneous level of knowledge from school. To this end, exercises are discussed and worked on in the mathematics meeting point in accordance with the current lecture and exercise material.

Furthermore, it should be shown here that the contents of mathematics are fundamentally important for later studies and also for professional life as an engineer, and thus more motivation and willingness to learn should be created among the students. For this purpose, the mathematical exercises are followed by application tasks from engineering.

Notice

The event is purely an additional event and does not replace participation in the lecture or the exercise groups. Accordingly, no CPs will be awarded for participation in Treffpunkt Mathematik. Please use the registration options of TUCaN. You will then be enrolled in the corresponding Moodle course.
