My research focuses on AI-assisted knowledge representation and automated reasoning with technical standards in structural engineering. The aim is to prepare human-readable codes and regulations so that they can be integrated directly into digital design and verification processes. To this end, I develop a domain ontology and knowledge graphs for structural analysis, which are combined with large language models through graph-based retrieval (GraphRAG). Agent-based approaches make it possible to interpret code requirements step by step and apply them in a traceable manner. A further focus is the systematic evaluation of language models on engineering exam tasks to investigate their reliability and limitations in a domain-specific context. The results feed into decision support systems for design and structural inspection.
