Bernadette Lang-Eurisch wins the student prize of the DGNB Sustainability Challenge 2024
2024/07/24
As in previous years, a prize for student projects will be awarded as part of the DGNB Sustainability Challenge. This year, the award goes to Bernadette Lang-Eurisch's master's thesis.
On the DGNB's Sustainability Day on June 18, Bernadette Lang-Eurisch's student project was honored this year. The work analyzes optimal strategies for greening façades and compares different systems in terms of their environmental and microclimatic impact. The results underline the benefits of integrated planning for the environment and human comfort, but also point to potential negative effects that need to be carefully weighed up. Thus, the study promotes a deeper understanding of the interactions between urban greening, environmental impacts and microclimatic conditions. It contributes to the development of more effective strategies for the integration of green spaces in urban areas and raises awareness for the balanced consideration of sustainability goals in urban planning.
